    Michel D   An Open Letter

    16.11.04 -  07:55

An open letter to all those who work corporate.

    Dear Sirs or Madams:
Be proud of your name badge. Wear it daily and wear it happily. It is who you are. It is what you do. It is what you stand for in this labyrinth of paperwork. This iconic plate of plastic, this laminated cameo. It is you.

Display it for all to see, lest you be confronted by security. It is your key, your pass, your proverbial Golden Ticket into a factory of dreams, chocolate, and midgets.

Clip it to your jacket. Hang it from your blouse. Dangle it around your neck via a comfortable plastic lanyard. Attach it to your Polo pocket.

But, for the love of christ, if you should fasten your badge from your pants pocket, please tuck it neatly into your pants pocket if you feel that you need to sit down on the toilet and shit.

I really don't want to know who you are as you sit there, vulnerable and unclean.

    Thank you.
