more terrible design from the cesspool of American Culture. The page tells me, in an authoritative tone, that this is "a typical costume sketch". ... god, I fucking hope not... This poor soul only has notebook paper to design on. While there is a time and place for designs like that, (depending on the show, or the feeling that you are trying to communicate), a sleek, opened tie-back, spaghetti-strapped cocktail/high school dance dress is not. These sketches are not in proportion with each other, yet I assume that they are the back and front of the same dress. I can hear the First Hand now, "So you want the front bustier, hippier, and fatter than the back, how do you propose we do that jackass?" or "So the back is black velvet and the front is bleached muslin? Nice throughline dumbass." Also, these sketches have no arms, legs, or heads... They must be for Mannequin: The Musical. Poor learning aide, poor idea, poor execution, poor communication ...all of that and it's saved in PNG format. Nobody uses PNG format anymore, especially not to showcase design work in an electronic medium. That's what JPG, AI, and PSD are for.
shitty shitty shit. Remind me to never work at the Worcester Polytechnic Intitute. |
