American Culture loves new forms, but it feels safer with old forms. American Culture resists change and wallows in the familiar. To thrive in American Culture, must New Design come in the guise of the old? Perhaps this is the way that American Culture, a Culture without Design, can thrive in the 21st century. Must we fool the Culture into accepting change? It has already rejected Design on a majority scale, and though there is evidence of Design in paltry patches throughout American Society, there is little indication that it is spreading. Design should not be about the deception of the Society. It is not pretextual. Design must be honest; it will not grow or spread through fraudulent presentments.
