    So if we are only Designing for other New Designers, what's to keep us from becoming the creators of a stale art - the harbingers of stagnant communication? For Design is art as much as it is communication. We live in an age of instant recognition - an age of worldwide availability. Design now becomes available to everyone once it is created and presented, unlike centuries past where art was created for the individual, the patron, or the members of the bourgeois aristocratic household. Outside of religious icons and altarpieces, art was not for the masses. However, the future of the New Design rests on the masses.
