Design should not be a reaction to and/or rejection of other designs. There is no creation in this approach. Design should not be an antagonistic art form. There are times and places for such expressions (i.e. other forms of art), but design should not be treated in this manner.

Once the design is a reaction/rejection to another design, the impact of said design is summarily removed. Inherently, it will no longer mix collaboratively with any other aspect of scenography, because the design is based in work outside of the collaborative process.

The only possible exception to this could be in the approach of a Gesamtkunstwerk, wherein, the design is a unified reaction/rejection of another design. But even in this case, design itself is still a resentful art.

    There must be creation.
