As I was driving to get some dinner today, I saw a sign touting the "Super Bowl Picnic."

    ... I completely forgot.

This sign is a pretty good litmus test in regards to my indifference over sports. After seeing this sign, I thought, "oh, look the Super Bowl is tomorrow." My second thought was, "you don't care so why even think about it." It angered me that it even crossed my mind, as if part of my brain was crying out that I should care. I wish sports, in general, were like a foreign language. I would look, see them, and acknowledge that they were there... but then it would go away, because I can't read "football." It pissed me off that its presence lingered in my thoughts, instead of fleeting with the same rapidity of entering.

Why do I watch the Olympics then? Because they're cool. And, I'm not saturated with their presence every day. They're only around once every 4 years (two, if you count the Winter Olympics... which I do.) so they are a much more bearable event.
