Michel D   Poor Richard's Traffic Jam

Ooh, Fall Back... you chap my hide...

Not that I don't mind getting an extra hour of sleep, or staying up an extra hour later, or watching the Mysterious 25 Hours of Scooby-Doo.

    It's the damn sunrise.

Now don't get me wrong. I love the sunrise. Just not when I'm driving to work. It gets in your eyes and you can't see and all of a sudden there's a dead animal in the middle of the road that you can't swerve to avoid, and the next thing you know you feel the skull of an animal carcass grating against the undercarriage of your car.

People get up with the sun, and when the sun "rises" an hour earlier people are on the road much earlier. Some family members tried to tell me that those people were actually just being safety-headed and getting up earlier because of the terrible inclement weather. But I know better. It's the sun.

I left my house yesterday at 6:20, and at 7:10 I hit Austin traffic. Not "7:10" traffic mind you, I hit "7:30" traffic. Those jerks were out much too early. They all got up with the sun and ruined my drive to work.

Of course I also enjoyed it when I drove to work and it was still dark out. In fact, it was still dark or at least darkish until I arrived at work. Now it's stupid sunny... ugh.

    Curse you Benjamin Franklin.
