    Michel D   recharging the cells

    15.9.03 -  19:37

Last summer I said that I wasn't going to take any summer school classes. That I was going to spend the summer feeding my soul. But what I found out is that you can't actually ever set time aside to feed your soul. To indulge in a creativity feast -- to recharge creative batteries. Time must be stolen. If time is set aside, it will always be filled minutely yet wholly with frivolous wastes.

I went to the bookstore tonight and purchased four books. They will be read within the next week. In fact, one is already done.

Daniel Clowes' Ghost World is beautiful. Serenely and Gorgeously simple. Glorious glorious. Bittersweet simplicity. I'm bringing it tomorrow to share with Umbra, who I know will be able to appreciate it...

Already I feel renewed vigor. I'm ready to create.

Now I will begin David Boring, then summer blonde (stories), and lastly I will indulge in Chuck Palahniuk's newest novel Diary. I can't wait.
