I love the 1800's tendency to use letters for names, so...

One of L___'s online friends was complaining about how many jobs would be lost to the Do Not Call list and "What kind o' country is this that the government gets to toss so many people out of work!!" sorts of things. To me, that's blatantly stupid... the list is just years' worth of hanging up.

But the long-running question that brings up is "What do mellow people do about the world of seemingly irrationally demanding people?" This ties in with my questions about the "You owe me whatever I want" attitude of a lot of "social activism" today.

The squeeky wheels get the grease, but most of the wheels don't know what they're talking about. It bothers me that the world is being influenced by all the wrong people, but what do I do? Do I go out and mount a "most things are pretty ok" campaign. The neutral causes are never as strong as the polarized ones, but to polarize this sort of thing would be hypocritical.
