Michel D   Dinner with the Catholics

    1.12.02 -  16:07

So I'm eating dinner at one of my Fave Restaurants, when I notice that it must be the dinner rush, and I'm surrounded by an inordinate amount of Catholics.

Which prompts the question: Why are their families so large? Are they afraid that they are losing rank to the Protestant factors? I understand the past necessity for large families. The children were the familial workforce to harvest and whatnot, and before that, the mortality rate was so high, that you had to have a lot of kids, in the hopes that a few would live. But I don't see the purpose of it now... We're taxing an already burdened planet with our 6 billion plus residents. Perhaps it's time for the Next Big Extinction, or possibly the implementation of some massive planet-wide Eugenics Program.
