Last night at 4:00 am there was this gorgeous bank of Strato-Cumulus in the sky, just in front of the moon. It was semi-thick, but not so much that it obscured the moon. And talk about a moon! Almost completely full! The moonlight was so bright that it shone right through the cloud bank, but it shone through spherically and with such luminosity that it gave the impression that the bank of clouds was cradling the moon in a small gentle hollow. Not only that but the bank was thick enough to catch the outer edge of moonlight as yellow, almost as if to say that, "Hey, my light is from the sun." It was a beautiful sun yellow around the edge. I watched it for a long time, despite the chilly-ass temperature outside.
In other news, GBA's The Sims - Bustin' Out is not only completely frustrating but totally sucky. Why make a game with a definitive goal and call it a Sim. Sure, Sim City has a "goal" - make this town awesome by such and such a time, but it doesn't tell you how to make it awesome. This was not a sim at all. It was "do this task and then this task to complete this goal and then we'll give you another goal." There's a definitive storyline to the game with a definitive ending - there aren't multiple endings like other games. Therefore there is very little replay value. The game doesn't change if you play it again, only your character changes. So what if I can play it with my friends? I can only play it once. Bleh. Now I'm not familiar with the other "The Sims" games, so maybe they're all like this, but I expect something a little more open when approaching goals. Rollercoaster Tycoon gives me a specific goal, but the ways to develop my park in pursuit of the goal are limitless. Perhaps someone could tell me a little about the other "The Sims" games, maybe it's only this one since it was developed to be portable on the GBA. No telling.
Now, on the other hand, Metroid Fusion completely rocks! |
