I don't know how she managed it, but actress Scarlett Johansson has managed to have two movies in a row where characters and subtlety win out over action and plot. Never have I been so happy with so little happening as in Lost in Translation and Girl with a Pearl Earring. I highly recommend both.

Lost in Translation- Bill Murray is an amazing actor. I wonder why no one ever noticed before.

Girl with a Pearl Earring- the only movie I've ever seen Colin Firth in where he didn't just play Colin Firth.

    See them!
