Tom Stoppard makes me feel stupid. He's suck a fucking clever, urbane smartass. The jerk. His plays are great, but I shouldn't walk away from reading something with the distinct feeling that I'm being mocked. When I die and go to heaven, and there are all of these geniuses hanging out being even more genius-y-er, I'm going to get to sit at the little table. ...oh, and on an unrelated note, I heard the most unique and glorious singer on NPR this afternoon. Her name is Sainkho Namchylak. She does this this multi-tonal "throat-singing" that I can't even begin to describe. The guy on NPR described her voice as a human reed, achieving both dulcet sounds and shrill squeals, she can even break notes like a reed instrument. She sounded incredible. Her CD, Stepmother City is on my Wishlist if you care.
